About Spridd

Green social architecture
Society today is undergoing major changes in the attitude towards consumption - sustainable solutions for the environmental and economical resourses are in focus. Constructions and daily consumption of energy account for a large portion of our resources, in order to achieve a comfortable indoor environment. Within this field great changes are on there way. Spridd works with the vision of a Green Social Architecture. The vision of the sustainability concept includes both social relationships and human behaviour and flows. To achieve change, better technical solutions are needed, but even more, it also requires fundamental changes in our behavior - our habits, our workplace, our dwellings and the overall consumption of buildings. For a resource-efficient way of building, it is crucial to evaluate what is really needed and to provide new approaches to sharing and making effective spaces. Our goal is to avoid unnecessary construction, reusing where possible, and when new construction is needed; to plan well and economically. This first phase of planning is important to create long-term sustainable solutions.
Well-designed solutions to strengthen social relations and flows affect the resource use as much as the choice of technology.
In our well-defined work processes and the solutions we deliver, we focus on efficiency and environmental awareness. Regardless of function and size, we are working to support and encourage the relation between humans and between humans and the environment.

Society changes. Positions in the home, at work and in the city need to be rethought. Established ideas of center and periphery constantly need to be reconsidered. Spridd was established to work with this.

Our work with dwellings spans a broad range from detailed design to research in the fields of urban planning. Among the agency's comissions there are townhouses, apartment buildings, villas and renewal of social housing from the post war period. A series of villas have received considerable media attention for their high quality. Spridd works with the vision of a Green Social Architecture. Whatever the scale of the residential environment, the aim is to support and encourage the relationship inbetween the inhabitants and between the inhabitants and the environment. Conscious and long-term environmental choices, technical as well as social and economic, form a key starting point for our work with dwellings. The agency's high standards regarding built environment requires a comprehensive knowledge and experience in all stages from conception to occupation. Working processes and tools in the design work is gathered in the "Spridd book", a quality document that follows ISO 9001. Spridd has a broad network of sub-consultants and contractors. Together, we are implementing projects from concept to finished building.
